Prior Knowledge Needed:

The Historical Facebook template is designed to be used in Google Docs, which requires a Google Account. Familiarize yourself with the drawing tools beforehand so that you can help students with creating text boxes, inserting images, and plotting points on the location map.

If you and/or your students do not have accounts, you can download a digital copy of the template and insert it into a drawing program or word processing application that has drawing tools. Test which applications you have access to to see which one will offer the best interface for your students. Review how to turn on the application’s drawing tools if they are not already active.

Alternative Uses:

For example, a similar Facebook template can be found online that is designed to integrate with the novel Treasure Island entitled, “Pirates need Social Networks too!” by Tara.
